Random Graces #13!

Moments from Our House

We spent Memorial Day at my in-laws' house. Jeremy's parents moved up here a couple of months ago, and it's been so fun. The kids love having both sets of grandparents close. They live on the lake, so we always have fun fishing out there.

The kids used a net to catch this itty bitty minnow. I don't know how they saw it.

Esmond woke up with a swollen eyelid. It cleared up eventually, but he looked pretty funny. He was having a bit of a panic attack about not being able to open his eye that morning, and then he finally realized, "Oh, it's ok! This eye is just still asleep." And then we could all move on with our lives.

And little miss took her boots off to do some 'sploring with her little fat feet. She is just so cute!

And look at that yoga squat! Don't you wish you were still that flexible? I do!

Killing of Gorilla to Save Boy Sparks Outrage This one makes me sad. We think so little of humans that we'd rather have a gorilla than the little boy. The whole situation is horrible. The boy shouldn't have fallen in, and maybe they could have used a tranquilizer, but I would have been freaking out if that were my son in there being dragged around like that. And I would have killed the gorilla if I'd had a gun. Without any hesitation or regrets.

I found this blog for the first time this week, I'm not sure how I missed this one. I was poking around Elizabeth's site and found this article. I struggle, I really, really, really struggle with a legalistic attitude about everything in life. How we drive, how we pay the bills, how we get up in the morning, and especially how we eat. I know that I tend to fall on the side of legalism, and I really hate that, so I try to avoid it. Things like this help. Traditional Diets in Perspective

This one is just nice to think about. And it makes sense to me. Whenever we go into the big city of Charlotte or drive through Atlanta, it's so hard to process all those buildings and wires and signs. Human brain hard-wired for rural tranquillity

That's it for today! I hope your week is blessed!
