Random Graces #8

Moments from our House

This week we've been cleaning out, again. I swear I clean out stuff every year. I throw trash bags full of stuff out. I create space, and room, and places for the stuff we keep. And every year, I have to do it again. We accumulate so much throughout the year. I need to figure out how to slow down the accumulation. Have you figured that out?

Anyway, I don't have many pictures, but I love this one. Noemi and I were walking to get the mail. I love holding her hand.

And it's kind of funny, but we've realized that we have a lot of black animals on this little homestead.

Which is funny, because I'm not a huge fan of the color black. Unless it's on animals, I guess. Because those Black Orpingtons and black goats are gorgeous. I think it's because the black on the animals isn't black. It's more like a combination of colors.

Parenting is hard. But it's not impossible. Discipline hurts. But only a little. My Mom found this gem. And it hit me right where it hurts when I read the part about kids staying in bed. Tonight Esmond will stay in bed. Parents, Require Obedience of Your Children

My house has about 26.2 million Legos in it. Maybe more. I have to change out my vacuum bag frequently because it fills up with Legos. But this post validated all those Legos for me. Playing with Legos is More Valuable than Algebra

Now, this is pretty cool. The oldest tree that all the scientists know about is almost 4800 years old. And they won't tell anyone where it is. Which makes sense, actually. I also loved that they call it Methuselah. Celebrate Earth Day with a 4800 Year Old Tree

As hard as it is, I think Christians need to back up a little from our culture. We're coming out of a time when everyone was a Christian, and coming into a time when the world and Christianity are more sharply divided. Christians Shouldn't Be Culture's Morality Police

And one last thing, in case you haven't heard. The newest e-book bundle is coming this week. It's the Ultimate Homemaking one. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to get it, but I'm definitely tempted. You can sign up for some free videos and more information here. Ultimate Homemaking Bundle

That's it, folks! I hope you are having a restful and wonderful Sabbath, and I hope you have a great week!
