2015 was a good year for us, with plenty of ups and downs, changes in plans, blessings and stressings. I fell twice, which I am not happy about (don't laugh like my husband did, I got all bruised up and made awful noises on the way down).
We got a lot done on the homestead, but Jeremy's work schedule changed and so did many of our (my) plans. (Pigpen changed to chicken coop, for one.) We played baseball and soccer, learned a lot (including goat-ed), and once again let the weeds take over the garden. We cooked and cleaned, culled and planted. We potty trained (Praise the Lord) and cloth diapered. We read a ton of books and collected a ton of eggs. We dedicated our youngest to the Lord and became an aunt and uncle. We played with the goats, lost some guineas and chickens (and saved a few chickens from certain death, too), and gained some guineas and chickens.
Jeremy calls himself the goat herder, and me he calls the chicken lady now. I wouldn't have thought I'd be able to catch and hold a chicken as well as I can, nor would I have imagined that I'd ever let a chicken jump on my shoulders. But it's nice settling into this homesteading lifestyle. The Lord is good and evident here.
Homesteading on Grace has been fun. And these are the posts that have garnered the most attention. Thanks for reading, commenting, sharing, and coming back. I'm so appreciative for each one of you, you have no idea. I love, love, love finding a comment. And I really hope I make you smile every once in a while with my craziness.
I've learned many things last year, and I'm looking forward to what I'm going to learn this year. And maybe, just maybe I'll get my pigpen before it's over with. What're you hoping for in 2016?
